Great book series

True Love at its Finest
The characters in this novel are very sweet, innocent. Although a little mushy and unbelievable, are the prefect love story. Lousia’s father needs a swift kick in the behind and Rachel with him. Lol Their friends also share true sentiment and show great loyalty. A really well written beautiful love story with the main character getting a second chance at love .December 12, 2024

Interesting Plot
I really like how the selfish rogue really was one, but then he was shook to his core because of the loss of a couple of important people in his life and how the ton was severing his acceptance, also. So, he really did have a change in heart, but it was difficult for people to really believe. Then there were other forces at work to make life more difficult. I really liked that he got what was coming to him, but then also glad that he really had changed and became a new person resulting in the eventual happy ending. You will want to read this different take on the rogue and a forced marriage.November 4, 2024

Enjoyable book!
I enjoyed this book. It has a good plot and the characters are well developed. The reveal of the person who tries to cause trouble for the couple is unexpected, which helps keep the reader engaged with the story. until the end. I received an ARC copy, but this is my honest review.October 31, 2024

wonderful story
I started to read this book and thought oh no another mother insisting that her son should marry. Then she started explaining why and it caught my attention. He needed an intervention in his life to change what he was doing and how he was thinking. This was a new twist by a mother. What an awful reputation the Duke had with everyone. After he meets the lady his mother has picked he starts to change many things but not only for her. I thought the author handled it all very well. I enjoyed the book for many reasons. The only thing that really disappointed me was the author did not include an epilogue. This story deserved one.October 29, 2024

Everything is not as it seems!
Sally Forbes is one of my favorite authors. Lady Louisa was given the duties of chaperone of her two sisters even though she herself was of marriageable age. Yarnmouth was considered a rogue. No one would want to marry him due to his reputation. Sometimes all it takes is for someone that believes in you to change your life. Loved the story!October 24, 2024

Realistic characters
We’ve all heard the expression caught between a rock and a hard place – well, that is exactly where Louisa and Joseph find themselves. He is arrogant and proud. She has been taken advantage of and mistreated by her family. Forced to marry by their determined parents, they cannot break their engagement because of the scandal it would bring. But Ms Forbes has realistically untangled this delicious mix into a wonderful read. Great characters, with whom I could easily identify.October 23, 2024

Captivating story
I enjoy reading Sally’s books & this one didn’t disappoint. It was hard to stop & I could have read it in 1 sitting. The change in the main male character was convincing & the strength of of the female character was edifying. But the complaint I always have is that the epilogue should become the last chapter & then there should be an epilogue that covers a few years later.October 23, 2024

Character Transformation
A most interesting story of character and personality transformation. Joseph, Duke of Yarmouth, has completely ruined his reputation and doesn’t realize the scope of it until he loses his best friend and mother. When they have turned their backs on him it makes him take a good look at himself and his character and then has determined that he is going to change his ways. His mother determined to see him marry has arranged a marriage between him and Lady Louisa. Louisa isn’t happy with it but to hopefully help her family and maybe find some sort of happiness for herself she decided she would accept. Now that he is determined to make a change for the better someone is sabotaging him and spreading rumors. Louisa receives a letter stating as much to get her out of the marriage. Louisa seeing the change in Joseph stands by him until a lady confronts him publicly about spending a night with her. ARC ReviewOctober 23, 2024

Great Story
Great to see the character development and struggle in this book. Going from a very selfish person to truly changing because being shown the lack of caring for others and selfishness in the story by family and friends who are concerned. Not an easy undertaking but understanding the need to change and having to prove yourself to not just those that care but also those that have seen him hurt others . Good read!
It’s sad when your own mother won’t even look at you and you best friend doesn’t want to be in your company. That’s what happened to the Duke of Yarmouth a very arrogant and prideful man who thought nothing of his actions. That is until he bumped into Lady Louisa and denied being at fault. His reputation was bad before but this made it much worse. He knew he had to do something to restore it. This is a fun book with very engaging characters and interesting plot. You’ll enjoy seeing the relationship between Louisa and Joseph develop and an Awakening in Joseph’s character.October 22, 2024

Changes
Well written, full of drama, society, actions, twists , turns, intrigue and changes. Joseph is a Duke who has been a rogue for years and now he has lost his honor and respect. Society has had enough of him. He has been thinking only about himself for years and now the time has come to catch up with him. Louisa is a strong woman who has been caring for her sisters. Not given much to choose from, she has to do what is important for them all. She gets a marriage of convenience offer from Joseph. Now the action start and you can notice the changes in him that he turns out not to be the same. Good book to read and enjoy. Would recommend to others. Mother knows best!
Joseph, Duke of Yarmouth, was a totally selfish rogue. He was very unlikable at the beginning of the book. His mother put her foot down, insisting that he find himself a duchess and settle down because she was fed up with his bad reputation and his rotten attitude. I was impressed and amused by the methods she used to aggravate him to the point that he did as she asked. By chance, his mother found the perfect lady for him. She recognized her strength of character and took it upon herself to make the betrothal for Joseph! While courting Louisa, he fell in love with her and as Joseph’s behavior improved, she fell in love with him but struggled with whether to trust him or not as rumors continued to pop up about him. The identity of the person instigating the rumors surprised me. I thought it might have been one of Louisa’s sisters trying to get her out of the marriage (thinking she still didn’t want to marry Joseph). The book ended happily and was interesting throughout. Hard to put down
I started reading this book in bed late at night. That was my first mistake. Three hours later, I was still reading and could not put this book down! The characters actually have flaws to them that a lot of other books do not show. I love that Louisa has gumption as my grandmother would have said. I love that she stands up for herself and makes her views known and I love that Joseph knows he needs to change and does his best to change. For those reasons alone I would have loved this book, but there were so many other reasons to love it… read it for yourself and find out the other reasons but most of all, enjoy!!!October 21, 2024

Lovely story!
This was a delightful story. The MFC is sweet and gentle, yet firm and strong. The author portrayed the scandalous character of the duke so well that when he started to change, it was very noticeable. I was not expecting the culprit of their troubles to be who it was. A lovely story that kept me fully engaged. The characters were well defined and relatable. Joseph and Louisa are opposites and while there is chemistry there, their heated banter keeps the reader engaged. I liked the story because of the characters.
