The Duke of Nottingham has had his share of problems in finding a wife. He seeks help from a former friend but Elizabeth (the sister) answers the letters. Such a great book
I started reading this book on a Friday afternoon and ended it on Saturday evening because it was very hard to put down. The main characters Elizabeth and Johnathan are engaging and keep you reading. I loved that even though Johnathon had some issues he had to work out, Elizabeth was always willing to help him and she saw the good in him when others did not. I loved this story! Miss Jefferies was a wonderful girl that was getting ready to make her debut into society. Her brothers good friend was forging his way back into society. Under the guise of her brother Miss Jefferies writes to her brothers friend giving him advice on how to behave and to get back on the tons good side. Elizabeth was perfectly content staying at the estate in the country helping her brother, Dennington. He informed her that they were going to London to attend the season. Her brother’s friend duke Jonathan sent a letter concerning entering the season again. Dennington having suffered from migraines to Elizabeth to go ahead and read it where they determined she would reply in her brother’s stead. He was needing guidance on how to conduct himself as he knew he was not perceived in a good standing. Well written, full of drama, secrets, action, society, love, rumors. personal growth, twists and turns. Elizabeth is writing letters to Jonathan , who is a Duke, after he seeks help from her brother. Her brother is not feeling well and has her reading and answering his mail. So when Jonathan arrives in London seeking help with society, she decides to help him. Elizabeth and Jonathan spend more time together and learn things about each other. Feeling sparks between them but then you have someone that doesn’t want them together. Secretly falling in love with a duke by letter!
Two romances in one book! Elizabeth gives romance advice to a duke by letter in place of her brother. Through the letters she learns who Jonathan really is as a person and falls in love with him. Her brother finds love as well but worries that he wouldn’t be a good husband due to the migraines he has suffered. His sister gives not only the duke good advice but then gives her brother much needed advice as well. With Elizabeth’s help, the duke’s reputation improves and they find love together. Great read!
The Duke of Nottingham needs help, lots of help. He has been rejected, not once but three times. He decided to write his good friend and ask for his for help. Perhaps Lord Dennington will help him find a wife. Lord Dennington’s sister has been handling the mail since her brother difficulty with headaches.. When she read the Duke’s letter she decided to answer for her brother offering his help. This is a fun love story. I loved the banter between the Duke and Elizabeth and enjoyed watching the arrogant and opinionated Duke begin to change.March 22, 2025

Not is all as it seems as Jonathan and Elizabeth meet and navigate a season fraught with secrets
I received an ARC and enjoyed the book. I read it in two sittings. The MMC was a duke that had been shunned in society after defending his sister in a scheme against her virtue. When he returns to society looking for a bride, he is turned down three times during the season. He reaches out to a friend for advice and begins a correspondence. However, not all is as it seems because the actual correspondent is the MFC, the sister of his friend, who is too ill to write the letters. When they all finally meet up in London for the Season, feelings between the MMC and the MFC develop causing complications due to the secrets both carry. Their HEA is threatened when the scheming lady from the past arrives thereby forcing secrets into the open and threatening their budding romantic connection. It was an enjoyable read with characters that are both frustrating and endearing at the same time.March 22, 2025

Lovely story!
This was in the author’s usual style and was a delightful story which I truly enjoyed. I also appreciated that it is clean in language and kisses only. While not a fan of the whole extended epilogue craze, I enjoyed it nevertheless. It was like the proverbial cherry on the cake. The Duke was a tortured, misunderstood hero who was not afraid to ask for help. That turned out to be a very good decision. Elizabeth was a kind and gentle lady but with quite the backbone. While not filled with drama and action, it remains an enjoyable read.March 21, 2025
