Sort many inaccuracies
I was looking forward to clean Regency romances. There were so many inaccuracies and the writing was terrible. The main character in the first book, which I stopped reading early on, was the son of a Duke and would have had a curtesy title, which was never used. *Spoilers* Two years after the death of his father he finally meets with his solicitor, although he immediately became the Duke when his father died. There was a stipulation in the will that he (Roger) had to marry to remain entitled to his father’s legacy. The Duke’s title and lands would be entailed so there were certain things that the father couldn’t take away from his son. Roger seems to be between 26-28 but tells his mother that he is not prepared to be the Duke, again, 2 years after the death of his father. As the heir to a dukedom he would have been instructed from birth how to be a Duke. No one seems to bow/curtsey, except the dowager duchess curtsied to the solicitor? The men don’t rise when a lady walked into the room. I finally gave up when everyone kept using Darling when speaking to each other. I bought the whole 10 book series, with many books within each series. Barely making it though half of the first book, I won’t be reading any more. Lesson learned to not but full series before testing out first book. Poorly written, annoying characters and simple internet searches would have yielded the information related to the British Aristocracy during the Regency Era. If you are writing Historical, Regency romances the author should have some knowledge of the time period she is writing about. Very disappointed.May 4, 2023

Good
3.75* **Smitten with a Scared Duke 4.5* Amelia and Roger a play on beauty and the beast. I really enjoyed this story. My only issue is how overly sweet at times and all the blushing. The suspense twist was really good. **A Diamond for His Grace 4* Evelina and Richard are a beautiful couple and a beautiful show of what true love is all about. ** A Masked Lady For MR. Kenworthy 4* Faye and Thomas an example of how a chance meeting can save one person and show another how to have a second chance at love. The suspense was very good. ** Capturing the Governess’s Heart 3* Robert and Emma was a cute story of a governess and a Duke. This was not my favorite of the four books but still a good read.April 23, 2022

Four great love stories
Every story in this box set is an absolute gem! The characters are wonderful. They’re not cardboard cutouts, but believable human beings. The stories are sweet, but not cloyingly so. All of the couples have to overcome obstacles, and you know they will, but the plot twists and drama keep you reading until the very last satisfying page. A delightful collection
Two wounded people find healing in their love for each other. A love match is nearly derailed by the machinations of a jealous relation. An intriguing, exciting spy mystery. Variety of Sweet Romances
These were all so enjoyable! I loved the story of Smitten with a Scarred Lady which portrays physical and emotional scars the couple has to overcome. A Diamond for His Grace of not judging people by labels and deciding love or responsibility is more important. A Masked Lady for Mr. Kensworthy was an adventurous story of spies and allies. Capturing a Governess’s Heart reminded me of a Governess Cinderella story. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading these stories! I starting reading them and then couldn’t put them down!April 6, 2022

Unusual ladies to be sure
The stories of 4 unusual ladies who are beleagured by tragedy, loss, treachery, arson, abduction, spite, jealousy, spite, hate (not at the same time of course) and having to overcome all of these, plus spies, villains and class distinction. Love is in the air
This is a wonderful box set of four entirely different love stories with hea endings. The stories range from a Duke trying to live life after a tragedy by becoming a recluse, a Duke who sees a lady at a ball and immediately sets out to claim her, a lady who gets involved with two men who work for the Crown and a young woman who is trying to protect her sister from the harsh realities of the world. Each story has interesting characters and there are a few surprises in each story.April 4, 2022
