  Weak Characters & No Closure
  
  I’m not surprised that the female was weak and insecure given the rejection and society’s response, but Phillip had zero excuse for the weakling that he turned out to be. Who knows what he would have allowed his mother to force him into. Also, the book rushed to its end given all the time spent on the weak back and forth. The author didn’t even close the look re Cedric and Daphne.

  brothers and mothers aren’t always right
  
  The old story duty over love, happiness not a factor. A woman jilted by her fiancé and that’s her fault, it sends her straight to spinsterhood? It took a mother almost losing her son for her to listen to him. Kudos to her for bringing the woman he loved to him. Sadly the heroine of this story had to stand up to her brother and refuse to marry the man he chose, in that era that was amazing, even more so that it worked. But, in the end they got their HEA.

  Verity And Philips Love Story
  
  This is a charming and well written love story. The main characters were desirable and likable. I enjoyed the beautiful romance that began on a suffer off chance amd over came all obstacles to become a true love with such a wonderful ending. I highly recommend reading!

  I am glad Verity finally found her man. It took forever for them to give into their feelings. It seemed that everyone began to see sense at nearly the same time. This is such a sweet story. Very good ending. I really enjoyed it.

  Liked Verity and Phillip. But way too much angst. But what truly bothered me was calling Lady Verity – Lady Sinclair. Lady Sinclair is her mother. Daughter of an earl is Lady 1st name not Lady last name. In spite of all that, I enjoyed their story.

  Regency at it’s Best
  
  This was my first book by this author, and I am now a fan. I will seek out her other works and read them as quickly as I can. This book was lovely, and well-written, with great characters and a beautiful ending. It’s a five-star read for me.

  I loved the buildup of their love story. Hated the way her brother bullied her with the disgusting Ambrose. Glad to see the spoiled daughters will have a comeuppance. Loved the gentleness of both characters in their conversations.

  Her brother was only looking out for himself. Who he chose was so wrong for her in so many ways. Philip was perfect but also had demons and skeletons in his closet that wouldn’t let him move on, thank god they found love.

  Verity became a spinster after her betrothed jilted her for her best friend. Her brother despaired of her ever marrying so he decided to make a match for her. Ambrose turned out to be an older man with daughters who took every opportunity to bully her. By chance, she met Philip, who had lost his wife to an illness years before. They immediately connected through their mutual love of landscapes. They fell in love but it took an accident to wake them both up to the truth. Not only did Verity get true love but also she found a lifelong friend in her husband’s kind sister, Georgina. A very happy ending after all she had suffered!

  Sweet courtship of too likeable people.
  
  I found Phillip too slow and hesitant to stand up to his overbearing mother, he is the head of the house and even though he loves his mother he lets her bully him too long. Verity’s brother was a class A jerk and not at all likeible until the end. That said and done I really liked the interaction between Phillip and Verity. Would recommend book highly without any editorial comments, I am an excellent reader but not a very good reviewer.

  Easy, enjoyable read with engaging characters. Lady Verity’s heart was shattered by her fiance breaking their engagement to marry her best friend. Love was not worth the pain. Verity’s brother decided it was time for her to remarry and planned an arrangement with a Lord with five daughters. Lord Philip, who’s wife died, was also pressured to remarry. Will Lord Philip and Lady Verity find love? Or will the pressure put on them decide their future?

  Lord and Lady
  
  The only thing I didn’t like about this book was Lady Sinclair’s first name. I didn’t know how to pronounce it, so it bothered me. I’ll let you all discover what it was for yourselves. The Lord and Lady in this Regency novel were both rather reclusive for very different reasons. But as always with Regency families, they were each being forced to attend the Balls, picnics and other activities in order to find a match. Lady Sinclair’s brother was trying to match her with an older man whom the Lady despised. With Lord Easton it was his mother pushing and prodding him in the direction of someone he had no connection with at all. These two lovely people finally meet, but there is much drama in their path to each other. It was a very emotional book for me as I cannot understand why the rules in England for these well to do people were so strict. It didnt matter if you loved someone, you just had to produce an heir and the woman had to find someone who would be able to provide for her but didn’t have to be in love. If you really like getting wrapped up with the characters I think you will love this book. It was very good.

  Well written, full of society, love, betrayal, emotions, family issues, marriage of convenience, action, drama, passion and twists. Lady Verity is a young woman who by society’s rules is almost a spinster and Lord Philip needs a wife after his wife dies. Both have family members who think they know what is best for these two. Verity and Philip are will be married and then have to work on getting their happily ever after plus figure out the feelings and love that they develop. Has good characters both bad and good plus a storyline to keep you reading. Would recommend to others. I received this book and leave this unbiased, honest review.
