Wonderful book !!
Most books that tell a story of a governess and a Duke are predictable and for the most part this one was too. We know how the story will end but getting to the end and just how they come together makes the story. That being said this was still a very enjoyable read–a clean sweet love story that was a story worth reading.September 9, 2024

Sweet story
This is a different take on regency romance. The heroine of the story is not nobility, but a vicar’s daughter. She is of much finer character that the protagonist, Lady Caroline, who is deliciously horrible. Alexander is caught between what society expects and what his heart desires.July 27, 2024

Charming characters
A sweet story with charming characters. Innocent Emma certainly discovered a different world at her new job, a world of love but also of schemes and enmity. My favorite characters were Mrs. Hodges, the kind and respectful housekeeper, and Edward, the loyal and informed friend of Edward. Beware of Scheming Ladies
Emma, a vicar’s daughter was requested to be a governess to duke Alexander Sinclair’s, daughter. She has the majority of training but has never been a governess and was unsure of herself, but her mother tamed her worries and she ventured forth. Emma met Victoria and immediately was put at ease by the child’s enthusiasm and curiosity. Their relationship became close quickly. Also, the duke and Emma couldn’t seem to keep their attraction to each other at bay, even though they cautioned themselves of social standing. The duke’s mother has other ideas for her son and invited Lady Caroline to the manor so the duke and her could get to know one another.
