  Harold and Harriet
  
  There is plenty of excitement in this story, along with a bit of mystery and some suspense. The story moved along at a good pace and the characters are well drawn. If you enjoy Regency romance filled with drama you should read this book.

  Flaunts historical accuracy
  
  This book might have been a fun read had it not been supposedly set in the Regency period. I certainly don’t expect fun historical novels to be history lessons. However, my enjoyment is disrupted by error after major error. The following are a few examples. An heir to an earldom cannot just run off to India, he must be confirmed while in England. No titled gentleman would be admired for setting up a trading business, no matter how successful. Physicians and Surgeons were not professions available to younger sons of titled gentleman, and neither profession would have had been referred to as a Doctor. Exclusive modistes did not fit gowns in public areas in their shops. The word proactive was not in use for at least 200 years. And there is much more.

  This is the love story of Harold and Harriet. Harold is on a mission to find out who causes his Fathers death and Harriet just wants to be independent. This story is full of intrigue and suspense. Harold wants revenge and Harriet. All through their ups and downs they end up with their HEA. A very good read.

  He has revenge and justice on his mind – she has independence in her mind. This wonderful read brings these two intense, bright and witty people together in a fascinating journey. I totally enjoyed the trip with its ups and downs, twists and turns. Can’t recommend this book enough!

  Solid quick read!
  
  This story really sucked me in! I felt connected to the characters and invested in the outcome of the struggle they faced. I always love when the leads banter with each other, and their dialogue was really enjoyable. It’s a nice, clean read with just enough tension to keep things interesting without being to stressful. Definitely worth it if you’re looking for a quick read!

  This had me front the beginning, I so love historical romance. This era of romance is one of my favorites and this one didn’t disappoint. We always think we can or will hold our emotions but I learn that our heart is the one in charge. I loved the ending and how it all played out.

  The Harried Harrys
  
  I thoroughly enjoyed my quick read of “A Deal With A Brooding Earl” and though I am an ARC reader, my opinion is colored more through my enjoyment of the subject and flow rather than a free work of fiction. I thought both our main characters were well thought out. I enjoyed the of Harold and Harriet (I love the naming btw, Ms Thorne) dynamic and how well they played off one another. Overall, the character development really made this work for me—it really drove the plot. Also, I loved the Harriet’s mother, truly. She endeared herself to me by being just the right balance of Regency Mama and present mother, a difficult thing to capture especially when you consider the foil of one’s spouse (I like what our author did earlier in the novel setting up the reader to feel safe with daddy dearest only to flip them later on!) Definitely give this one a read!

  The Earl is looking for the source of his family’s ruin even if it means Harriet, it finds it. The story is full of danger and mystery. Harold must eventually decide between revenge and his feelings for Harriet. Good story.

  I loved this book!
  
  A mystery, an investigation , a surprising conspiracy, a so very handsome man, and a spirited woman with a dry sense of humor. What more could I want? There was a good amount of suspense and I often felt breathless just reading it, waiting to see what happens. I very much recommend this book!

  The story of Harold and Harriet was packed full of intrigue and surprises. The long road to the each other was full of anxiety and happiness. I love stories when the bad guy gets his due and the good guys get what they deserve too. The strong characters got their happily ever after and I can’t wait to read the next Julia Thorne book.

  The perfect blend of danger and romance
  
  For Harold and Harriet, it was love at first sight. Unfortunately, Harold has been searching for evidence to prove that Harriet’s father is the man behind his father’s death and disgrace five years ago. Trying to keep his distance from a woman he finds so intriguing is a lost cause, yet giving up his quest for the truth is also not an option. As notes begin to appear threatening Harold and those he loves if he continues his investigation, he has a choice to make. Does he give up his search for justice to protect those he loves, or does he continue and risk everything. This clean, sweet, story has a nice blend of danger and romance. It kept me turning pages until long after I should have gone to bed.

  Well written story of revenge, suspense, deceit and love. Lord Harold is determined to go to any length to uncover his families ruin. This look leads him to the brilliant Harriet who loves her once quiet book reading life. Entertaining and engaging the characters work well together and the plot is well done.

  Fast paced historical fiction
  
  Cute story of a man looking for evidence to clear his deceased father with the help of his friends. Along the way, both him and a friend of his fall for one of the suspects’ daughters. In the end, justice prevailed. There are some tense moments. Some cute ones. On the other side, it’s about a young lady prepping to endure another season with her sister. One who loves the social life and one who doesn’t. Who stumbles onto hard truths. Liked most of it. Had me engaged. The ending almost seemed abrupt, though. However, it at least gave closure .
